LightCode Collective is a boutique lighting design and production company serving the Cape Town music and events industry. Known for creating immersive atmospheres and custom-built lighting installations, the collective blends technical innovation with artistic vision to transform dance floors, weddings, and live experiences into unforgettable environments.

Joining in the company’s third season, I stepped into a leadership role to help professionalise operations and build scalable systems during a crucial growth phase. My work balanced logistical clarity with creative alignment—laying foundations for the business to grow sustainably while maintaining its distinctive creative flair.

Key responsibilities include:

Operations & systems building – developed and managed detailed production timelines, staff schedules, and internal systems for finance, invoicing, and project management

Team coordination – oversaw key production phases (build-up, live, break-down) and facilitated clear communication between creative leads, technicians, and stakeholders

Client communication – helped translate high-level concepts into client-facing communication that reflected both strategic direction and emotional nuance

Digital infrastructure – set up and managed the company’s Google Workspace, social media channels, and official website, including all copywriting and user flow

Creative & strategic support – collaborated closely with the founder to bring ideas to life through structure, storytelling, and streamlined processes

My role at LightCode allowed me to work at the intersection of vision and execution—bringing calm, cohesion, and operational excellence to a fast-paced, high-impact creative environment.
