FREELANCE PRODUCTION.

Production Coordination Ā· Artist Liaison Ā· Site Operations Ā· Event Systems | 2021 - 2025

A selection of freelance production work across South African festivals, cultural events, and live experiences.

My work in production sits in the operational centre of an event — where timelines, suppliers, artists, crew, site flow, and live decision-making all need to hold together. Across projects including Rocking the Daisies, Smalltown Beat Festival, Playtopia, Kunda Valley, We Love Summer, Billy’s Beach,LightCode Collective, Troubles With Us and Ceara McAvoy/Underdays I’ve supported the systems that allow creative events to move from planning into real-world delivery.

Rather than sitting in one fixed department, my role has often been to bridge the gaps between creative vision, production logistics, and on-site execution.

What I held:

Production planning
Timeline creation, production schedules, critical path planning, build-up and breakdown planning, site planning support, budget tracking, and production documentation.

Supplier & vendor coordination
Supplier sourcing, briefing, booking, quote comparison, delivery coordination, on-site check-ins, issue resolution, invoice tracking, and close-out support.

Artist & talent management
Artist booking support, liaison, travel and accommodation coordination, rider management, backstage support, artist check-in, and communication between artists, stage managers, and production teams.

Crew & team systems
Crew scheduling, call sheets, volunteer coordination, shift planning, team communication channels, on-site check-ins, and crew welfare support.

Site & live operations
Gate and check-in systems, accreditation, guestlist and wristband management, access control, parking coordination, vehicle movement, camping/glamping logistics, and front-of-house operational flow.

Live problem-solving & wrap
Real-time troubleshooting, timeline recovery, supplier delays, artist delays, gate bottlenecks, weather adjustments, communication breakdowns, debriefs, handover notes, and lessons-learned documentation.

This work reflects the part of production I’m strongest in: holding complexity calmly, creating structure around moving parts, and helping creative events land safely, clearly, and professionally.
